When the going gets rough …
What do we do in our spiritual walk when times get tough? Do we understand why we are going through hard times? Is it important to know? Do we need to know or is it God’s concern & not ours? Are we to suffer in silence? Do we let people know when we are going through tough times? Is there such a thing as “good” suffering?

We will explore these questions (and many others), particularly focusing on these topics:

A letter from the Hierholzers…

Dear Church Family,
With a mixture of joy and sadness, Karin and I will soon be leaving Fresno and moving to Knoxville, Tennessee. The reason for our move is to be much closer to our three adult children, our son in law and our new granddaughter, all of whom live “back east.” The sadness comes from having to leave St. James and all of you. From the very beginning you all warmly embraced us, and welcomed us into ministries. It is so wonderful to be in a church where so many people devote themselves to prayer and ministry; so many people who earnestly desiring to follow Jesus Christ. We are grateful for the steadfast and godly leadership of Father Carlos; for his example and his teaching. St. James has played a tremendously positive role in our spiritual growth and in the spiritual growth of our two younger children, Will and Mary. Thank you for seeing us through lots of ups and downs. We will continue to pray for St. James – its leadership and for all of you. We will miss you.

Robert and Karin Hierholzer

PS: I will continue to work for the VA in a large outpatient clinic in Knoxville. However, neither my current job nor this new one are the reasons for our move.
